MEET MOUNTAINEER LEI WANG
One summit away to become the first
Asian American woman
to conquer Seven Summits and Two Poles

What: Meet Lei Wang, a mountaineer who has climbed six of the highest peaks on the seven continents and has skied both the North and South Poles.  She is one summit away, Mount Everest to accomplish her life-long dream and a world record.  To date, only 10 people in the world have finished both the Seven Summits and the Two Poles (Seven Plus Two).  She will be the first American Asian women to accomplish this challenge.  Lei will share her journey and the adventures she has experienced.

When: Wednesday, January 27, 2010.  6pm-8pm

Where: Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, Inc., 38 Ash Street, Boston, MA (off Oak Street, between Washington Street and Harrison Ave.  T stop at Tufts Medical Center)

Who: Lei Wang was born in China during the Cultural Revolution.  Lei came to the U.S in 1995 to continue her graduate study in Computer Science at UNC-Chapel Hill.  Lei received her MBA at the Wharton School.  She worked as a software engineer in New York and Seattle before moving to Boston in 2003.  She began her pursuit of mountaineering in 2001.  www.leisventures.com
