BCNC Portrait: Kelly Huang, Director of Youth Program

Kelly Huang is BCNC’s newest Director of Youth Program. We’re excited to have Kelly join BCNC and the Youth Center team.

Prior to joining BCNC, Kelly has more than 20 years of experience in education. She was a high school teacher for 17 years at an international school in Shanghai. After that, she became an education consultant.

“I like the energy I get from young people. I don’t feel like it’s a work obligation, but rather building relationships with and providing guidance to the youth. A good guidance can help shape a student’s journey, so I find this work to be meaningful,” shared Kelly.

Kelly will be bringing her expertise in college preparation and experience of working with youth to this role. She is also excited that our programs provide jobs to the youth so they can develop work-readiness skills. She’s currently working with her team to develop mental health programs for the youth.

“The Asian and immigrant population has moved out of Chinatown to other areas such as Quincy and Malden. I’m working with my team to find ways to reach the youths that live outside of Chinatown so that they can also have access to resources and opportunities to develop skills,” shared Kelly.
