Immigrant Opportunities Fair Draws Adult English Learners

Our Adult Education Immigrant Opportunities Fair was a great success--a BCNC Quincy student already started her orientation at Zara! BCNC Adult Education held its first Immigrant Opportunities Fair on Thursday, November 7th, 2019. Over 100 adult English learners from BCNC and surrounding English learning centers networked and learned more about job opportunities. Immigrants and English language learners bring a wide range of skills and experience to the workforce, including language skills in some of the most commonly spoken languages in Boston: Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Vietnamese, and French. During the fair, presenters spoke about a variety of available opportunities and job trainings, from manufacturing to hospitality, to food service and retail.
