Empowering Our Youth: Teens At Work

YC Boston Teen Staff

Our teen staff are quite busy! This summer, BCNC employed 26 teen staff across Boston and Quincy. These teens work in the childcare programs, Operations, Pao Arts Center, Youth Center Quincy, and Youth Center Boston. Teen staff with the Youth Center are creating and leading activities for other teens, helping with planning and logistics, updating marketing materials, and planning for the upcoming school year. In the childcare programs, teen staff directly support teachers and group leaders with planning and implementing activities for children. Other projects our teen staff are working on include updating our databases, taking photos of classes and events, creating videos for the Pao Arts Center, organizing offices, and filing. While enhancing BCNC’s daily operations, the teen staff are also developing vital skills in the workforce, empowering them in their future work endeavors.

Special thanks to the following organizations for supporting our Teen Employment Program: City of Boston – DYEE, John Hancock – MLK Summer Scholars, The Boston Foundation – My Summer in the City, and the Boston Private Industry Council.
