Youth Letter to School Leadership

We are high school students from Boston, Malden, and Quincy, members of the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC) Youth Center. Volleyball, Foosball, and Snacks: Alums Reconnect

YC Reunion Group Photo

As part of BCNC’s 50th Anniversary, we hosted a reunion for the Youth Center and Recreation programs on Saturday, August 3rd, 2019. Former participants, staff, and volunteers gathered at the Josiah Quincy School gym for a friendly volleyball tournament. Afterward, everyone made their way to the Youth Center lounge for socializing! Between games of foosball and In a Pickle, attendees shared memories over snacks and old photographs. Jeremy Mei, a former youth participant, recalls his favorite memories of BCNC were “coming in after school to hang out, participating in guy’s club, cooking club, digital connector, and playing computer games after 5pm.”

What’s a Fun Way to Support the Youth Center? Paint Nite!

On July 16th, the Bamboo Circle, BCNC’s young professionals’ network, had a Paint Nite fundraiser to support the Youth Center. 31 people learned how to make a beautiful seascape painting, all while relaxing with food, drinks, and conversation. Through this event, the Bamboo Circle exceeded their fundraising goal! Click here for photos on Facebook.
