BCNC Portrait: Angela

Angela is a BCNC Youth Center (YC) alumna who was involved in the leadership, college access, and teen employment programs.

"At BCNC, I developed leadership and ability to communicate in a more professional setting. I also learned to find and project my own voice, as well as learning the value of leveraging my voice for the benefits of others in my community,” says Angela. She also learned about the issues that impact the Chinatown and Asian American communities. “Generally, BCNC has allowed me to be better at stepping outside of my comfort zone,” says Angela.

After graduating high school, Angela also got involved with other agencies focused on climate change advocacy and community organizing.

She is currently a sophomore attending Clark University and she is leaning towards majoring in Global Environmental Studies or Geography. This year, she will be an intern with the Youth Center.
